Coming into the Denver Broncos training camp, the consensus on the team was then Kyle Orton was the number one quarterback under center with Brady Quinn as the second option and rookie Tim Tebow bringing up the rear at third string.
Even though Tim Tebow was thought to be nothing more than a third string quarterback heading into this season, his Denver Broncos jersey (#15) has become the best-selling jersey in the NFL and a two-time BCS champion out of Florida has had a media circus all following him ever since he was drafted in the 2010 NFL Draft.
No matter how many people have doubted him or his ability to play on the NFL level with an awkward throwing motion, Tim Tebow has kept his head up high and become a very likable player in Denver and around the league.
Not only has Tebow been considered the future face of the Denver Broncos franchise, but as time has rolled on many people have started to wonder if the promising young quarterback will play earlier than anticipated in the regular season.
The one thing that arguably one of the best college football players of all-time has brought to the Denver Broncos is his leadership, which is something the team is sorely lacked over the years with infamously selfish players like quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Despite the fact that he still has to prove himself on the football field, which is priority number one right now, Tebow does not have to prove that he’s a born leader and the ideal candidate to take over the starting quarterback position in the near future.
Unlike other NFL franchises around the league, the Denver Broncos have three quarterbacks that could arguably start on other teams. With Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn and Tim Tebow, choosing a starter is easy as Orton is the guy head coach Josh McDaniels wants under center to start the regular season, but picking a backup is getting increasingly more difficult as Tebow shinned in his debut while Quinn really struggled.
The Denver Broncos may have ultimately lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in their first preseason game 33-14, but the game was pretty telling to say the least as at times Tim Tebow looked solid in all aspects of his game finishing with eight completions on 13 passes (same as Kyle Orton) for 108 passing yards and one rushing touchdown.
Brady Quinn on the other hand may have improved Tim Tebow’s chances of being the second quarterback on Josh McDaniels’ depth chart as the former Notre Dame gunslinger finished with just six completions on 16 passes and 84 passing yards with one interception.
At this point in time, I really can’t see either Tebow or Quinn knocking off Orton as the starting quarterback in Denver, but the Florida Gators legend has definitely turned heads after his first game in the preseason and could end up being the number two guy under center before the regular season begins for the Broncos.
